Job Description

Job Overview Do you enjoy working outdoors in a fast‑paced, safety‑obsessed aviation environment? As a Ramp Agent you will be essential in ensuring that flights run on time by providing efficient ground support services. Responsibilities Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate. Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo and mail in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts safely. Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage or destruction. Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies. Operate heavy equipment such as pushback tug, lift trucks, belt loaders, air start units, deicers, bag and lavatory carts; maintain visual contact with wing walkers. Record customer baggage, air freight, mail and company materials and complete relevant paperwork and forms. Follow company procedures and protocols to operate safely and responsibly. Complete all required training from company, airport authority or customers. Be on time, prepared and safe; willing to work flexible hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Safety, Security and Compliance Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety and security of self and others. Cooperate with manager/supervisor to comply with all legal requirements. Refrain from intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misusing company property. Inform manager/supervisor of any hazardous situation. Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to manager/supervisor. Carry out work according to provided information, training and specific safety rules or procedures. Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies. Attend required training courses. Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push or pull items of 70 lb (32 kg) or more on a regular basis; lift 40–50 lb on raised surfaces. Carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs. Walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently for extended periods. Work in cramped or high places. Remain alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate. Work outside in all weather, around jet and machinery noise. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good communication skills – effectively communicate verbally or via radio with flight crew, gate agents and ground crew. Basic math skills – ability to calculate weight and balance for planes. Computer skills – use computer systems to track cargo and baggage. Problem‑solving skills – troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading. Time management skills – manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age; high‑school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean record. U.S. or Canada work authorization as required. Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security. Secure a Customs Seal if required by customer or role access. Preferred: One + year of relevant experience.
