Job Title: - Instructional Designer
Location: - Livermore CA (Hybrid)
Duration: - 10+ months with possible extension
Must Have:
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utility industry.
• Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
• Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
• Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
• Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
• Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train the trainer, and pilot.
• Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
• Available during office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST) Monday – Friday
Required Skills:
• 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training for technical skills; such as electrical utilities or related industries.
• Bachelor's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study.
• Skilled in instructional design methodologies and technical writing.
• Experienced in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables on time.
• Work closely with team and subject matter experts to proactively communicate concerns, issues and risks .
Desired Skills :
• Experience in hydroelectric operations, general construction, and heavy equipment operation
• Master's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study
• Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Articulate 360
• Skilled in graphic design
• Teaching experience
