Math and Physics Teacher (2026-27) BASIS Independent Fremont Upper is seeking a qualified Math and Physics Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Responsibilities Prepare subject‑specific lessons in math and physics. Teach higher‑level content than grade standards in an interactive learning environment to deliver exceptional results for all students. Apply deep subject knowledge and implement the BASIS Curriculum through effective and creative lessons and assessments. Collaborate with other curriculum teachers to build a community of high‑achieving professionals. Guide student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality. Essential Qualifications Deep knowledge of and passion for the subject taught. Ability to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content. Skill in creating a positive classroom community and building relationships with students. Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents. Open to feedback and continuous growth. Creative instructional and classroom management strategies. Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, and flexible disposition. Strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” mindset. Additional Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in the subject area. No coursework or certification required, but a fingerprint clearance card is necessary. Preferred: Postgraduate work (master’s or Ph.D.) and high GPA in major, excellent recommendations, and experience working with children.
