About the Role:

The Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment across all construction sites within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that comply with OSHA regulations and industry best practices. The Safety Manager leads accident investigations, identifies potential hazards, and enforces corrective actions to prevent future incidents. By collaborating closely with project managers, site supervisors, and workers, the Safety Manager fosters a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. Ultimately, this role ensures that all construction activities are conducted in a manner that protects employees, minimizes risks, and supports regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Proven experience conducting accident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver effective safety training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification.
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) software and tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations related to construction activities.
  • Previous experience managing safety programs for large-scale construction projects.
  • Advanced training in risk assessment and emergency response planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems and programs tailored to construction site requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Lead thorough accident investigations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver safety training sessions and workshops to educate employees and subcontractors on occupational health and safety best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction planning and execution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensure organizational adherence.
  • Prepare and submit safety reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and company leadership as required.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee participation and feedback on safety initiatives.
