The Research Associate will be provided with training in clinical assessments and will gain experience in general research administration and the preparation of publications and conference presentations.The position is funded by the National Cancer Institute and will be supervised by Dr. Jasper Smits (smits@utexas.edu). For more information about the trial, please see is a fixed-term 1 year position.## Responsibilities* Coordinating recruitment efforts for an ongoing clinical trial that examines a community based aerobic exercise intervention for smoking cessation in adults with high anxiety sensitivity.* Organizing and overseeing data collection and study protocols, including management, cleaning, and preparation of data collected via online survey platforms (REDCap, R-Studio, Qualtrics).* Interfacing with research and clinical staff to maintain effective communication regarding participant scheduling, data management, and quality control.* Conducting clinical interviews and preparing assessments.* Maintaining and revising IRB protocols and assisting with research compliance reports and procedures.* Supervision of undergraduate students conducting data entry and other tasks.## Required QualificationsA minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related field and prior research experience (including experience as a student) though relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.*Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.*## Preferred QualificationsHas prior research experience in a psychology lab, speaks English and Spanish, and has experience with the data management and use of software programs for statistical analysis such as REDCap and R-Studio.## Salary$40,000## Working Conditions* May work around biohazards* Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation## Required Materials* Resume/CV* 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor* Letter of interest**Important** **for applicants who are NOT current university employees or contingent workers:** You will be prompted to submit your resume the first time you apply, then you will be provided an option to upload a new Resume for subsequent applications.
