The Travel Specialist, reporting to the Manager Travel, works closely with the other members of the travel team to ensure that all travel requests are carried out efficiently and within established policies and guidelines. In our fast-paced team environment, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and take pride in delivering a premium level of service with attention to detail. A well-rounded understanding of all aspects of the travel industry is required. Your expertise will help identify and implement improvements that will get results.

What You Will Do:

  • Arrange domestic and international business travel for the Empower organization
  • Resolve clients' needs and preferences, such as schedules and costs
  • Identify required fare and schedule information
  • Calculate total travel costs
  • Update and maintain itineraries, including details needed for international travel (e.g., passports or visas)
  • Listen and be a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations which provide the very best traveler experience in each situation
  • Share experience and standard processes with travel team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support
  • Perform root cause analysis when problems arise to develop permanent corrective actions
  • Apply subject matter expertise to suggest regional and global ideas for process improvements
  • Take the lead with resolving debit memos, technical issues and quality control of reservations
  • Enhance and maintain post travel cost summaries
  • Collaborate and assist with valuable projects requested by senior management

What You Will Bring:

  • 6+ years of corporate travel experience required with domestic and international reservations. 8+ years experience preferred.
  • College degree in travel management preferred
  • Possess a high level of confidence and strong technical skills
  • Expertise with the SABRE travel system required
  • Advanced experience working with online booking tools, including CVENT, Concur and TMC reporting packages
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint

Base Salary Range $65,600.00 - $92,675.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
