Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Windows Desktop Engineer to manage, maintain, and support our Windows endpoint environment and integrated Microsoft 365 services. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Windows 11/Enterprise operating systems with hands-on experience in cloud administration, user management, and security, ensuring secure and efficient computing experience for our users.
Key Responsibilities:
MS365 Administration: Act as the subject matter expert for MS365 services, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, MS Teams, and SharePoint. Handle user provisioning, licensing, security, and policy administration in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Endpoint Engineering: Design, build, and maintain standardized Windows desktop images (WIM) and automated deployment packages using Microsoft Intune or SCCM.
Cloud & Identity Management: Manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), ensuring seamless synchronization with on-premises AD, implementing Conditional Access (CA), and configuring MFA.
Patch Management: Utilize Intune/WSUS to deploy OS patches, security updates, and third-party software updates to Windows endpoints.
Technical Support (Tier 3): Provide high-level support for complex Windows OS, hardware, and application issues, serving as an escalation point for the Service Desk.
Security Compliance: Enforce security policies based on CMMC Level 2 requirements, endpoint protection (Defender ATP), and data protection controls (DLP) across all desktop systems. This role requires direct engagement in NIST and CMMC compliance activities, including control implementation, evidence development, and audit‐readiness support.
Automation: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks, application deployment, and system maintenance.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 5-8+ years of experience in desktop engineering, systems administration, or a similar role supporting corporate Windows environments.
Operating Systems: Expert knowledge of Windows 11/Enterprise administration and troubleshooting.
Microsoft 365: Proven experience in O365/M365/GCC-H administration (Email, OneDrive, Teams, Security & Compliance).
Tools: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune/CoPilot and/or SCCM for imaging and deployment.
Identity: Strong understanding of Active Directory and Azure AD.
Scripting: Basic to intermediate PowerShell scripting capability.
Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100/MD-101).
Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-100/MS-101).
Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Azure Virtual Desktop/Windows 365).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
