Lockheed Martin is seeking an AI Hardware Engineer and Full Stack Engineer Staff to join our Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence organization supporting advanced Defense & Aerospace programs. In this role, you will architect, design, and implement end‑to‑end AI solutions that span custom hardware accelerators, embedded and edge computing platforms, and secure cloud‑native applications. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate mission requirements into scalable AI systems, integrating sensor data pipelines, model training and deployment workflows, and resilient user‑facing applications used in critical defense environments. As a staff‑level engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the full stack, from low‑level hardware and firmware interfaces to backend services, APIs, and modern web front ends. You will evaluate and prototype AI/ML accelerators (GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs), optimize inference workloads, and drive performance, reliability, and cybersecurity into every layer of the system. You will design and develop microservices, data services, and UI components using industry‑standard frameworks, ensuring solutions are modular, testable, and aligned with zero‑trust and DoD security guidelines. Responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, conducting design and code reviews, defining technical roadmaps, and contributing to system architecture decisions for complex, multi‑domain defense platforms. You will work within secure development processes, support integration and test events in laboratory and operational environments, and prepare technical documentation for stakeholders and government customers. This position requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
